We met up with one of our devoted staff members, infant caregiver Mayra Perez, and asked her a few questions to get to know her better!
Q: First things first, what is your name, the age group you teach, and duration at Claire’s Day School?
A: My name is Mayra Perez, and I am an infant caregiver. I have my 3rd class of babies this year.
Q: Describe what your class is learning about this school year.
A: They are babies, so their way of learning is through exploration, responding to music & singing, and learning to clap their hands.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working with children?
A: Watching how they mature and begin to grasp concepts.
Q: What is your favorite animal?
Q: What project or class subject has been a highlight so far this school year?
A: I had a lot of fun making their cute Halloween projects.
Q: What do you like to do outside of Claire’s Day School? Any hobbies you enjoy?
A: I am active in my church, and have three children, one who is a preschooler at Claire’s, so I am very involved in their activities.
Q: Sometimes children can teach us things we don’t realize or know. Have you learned anything from your classes in your experience as a teacher?
A: Lots and lots of patience!
