TEACHER PROFILE – Maria Gomez
We met up with one of our devoted staff members, young toddlers caretaker Maria Gomez, and asked her a few questions to get to know her better!
Q: First things first, what is your name, the age group you teach, and duration at Claire’s Day School?
A: Maria Gomez, 12-17mos, started with Claire in 1996
Q: Describe what your class is learning about this school year.
A: I teach young toddlers through songs (head, shoulders knees and toes)
Q: What is your favorite thing about working with children?
A: Seeing the kids start to make friends and show their love.
Q: What is your favorite animal?
A: Elephant (I like to sing to the kids about Elephants)
Q: What project or class subject has been a highlight so far this school year?
A: I love creating memorable holiday keepsake projects for the parents
Q: What do you like to do outside of Claire’s Day School? Any hobbies you enjoy?
A: I like sleeping late on the weekends and playing bingo!
Q: Sometimes children can teach us things we don’t realize or know. Have you learned anything from your classes in your experience as a teacher?
A: Patience

A: New York at Christmastime
