DIY Halloween Costumes For Your Toddler
WANTING OPTIONS FOR UNIQUE & INEXPENSIVE KIDS’ HALLOWEEN COSTUMES? WE HAVE YOUR TODDLER COVERED WITH THESE DIY IDEAS!
Halloween is just a couple of weeks away, which means it’s time to start thinking about a fun costume both you and your child will love. With opportunities to get dressed up for our Halloween parties on Oct 30 & 31 at Claire’s Day School as well as trick-or-treating on Halloween evening, find an outfit that will make your kid happy and part of the festivities. Costumes at the stores can be overpriced, uninspired, and often unavailable, so instead of buying a costume this year, make one using one of the tutorials from some great resources we’ve linked below!
Felt Monarch Butterfly:
Even though the real butterflies are hiding away for the winter, they still make for a great Halloween costume that is easy to make and custom sized to your child. Be sure to measure their wingspan when drawing the wings to make it the perfect length. Add black long sleeves & leggings for a warmver version than pictured.

As for our Preschool classes, Mrs. Gibbons’ & Mrs. Marino’s class, as well as Mrs. Schorsch’s class, will have parties on Tuesday & Wednesday, October 30th & 31st at 9:30. If your child attends Monday through Friday, please plan to send him or her in costume both days! Mrs. Gill’s class will have one Halloween party on Wednesday, October 31st at 9:30. T/TH students are welcome to come up for the party. Mrs. Janss’ class will have one party on Wednesday, October 31st at 9:30.
We encourage you to send your child in costumes these days. For the Parent’s Day Out (PDO) classes, please send extra clothes to change into for nap time, and please ensure the costumes are easy to access for diaper changing, and do not have masks or accessories. If you would like to help out with the parties, there are sign-up sheets outside of the classroom doors. For the Preschool classes, all students are encouraged to wear costumes on party days, provided they also have a change of clothes if they are staying in the afternoon. Please, no masks or accessories.
We can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes! Trick-or-Treat!
